More and more, environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) are becoming material to the success of a business. While ESG can pose tremendous risk if they are not well managed, ESG can also create opportunities in today’s investment environment.

Emend’s Vision Fund champions companies tackling the planet’s biggest sustainability issues, which is why we sat down with Dr Basma Majerbi to help entrepreneurs understand the risks and rewards of ESG and how to attract the attention of savvy institutional, private equity and impact investors.

Dr Basma Majerbi sat down with Sophie Campbell at Emend’s Victoria office.

Dr Majerbi is an associate professor of finance at Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria. Her research interests include international finance, ESG and impact investing, and climate-related financial risks and opportunities.
